How to Nev

Working in a distributed team means dozens of discussions in topics and tasks every day. Even if you log in regularly, it's easy to miss some messages. To prevent this, remote.team has a flexible notification system. Let's look at how to set it up for your needs.

What You Can Enable

In the Notifications section of your profile settings, there are three options:

1. Sound alerts for new messages while you are working in the system.
2. Email digest of unread messages — an email with a list of topics that have new messages.
3. Telegram digest — the same thing, but in your messenger via the @remote_team_rt_bot.

Email and Telegram digests work in parallel: they don't replace each other but duplicate the same content across different channels. Choose the one that is more convenient for you to check.

Email Digest: Choose Your Frequency

After enabling the "Get email digest of unread messages" option, a dropdown menu will appear with frequency options — from once a day to six times.

Practical tip: If you are actively involved in discussions, set it to 3–6 times a day so you can react to colleagues' questions faster. If you work asynchronously and check your mail in the morning and evening, 1–2 times is enough.

Telegram: Connect the Bot in a Minute

To receive unread digests in Telegram, just check the corresponding box in the settings and follow the link to connect the @remote_team_rt_bot. After that, you will start receiving messages with a list of unread topics and tasks directly in your messenger. Note: The frequency of Telegram notifications is inherited from your email settings.

What's Important to Remember

- No spam while you're online. To avoid distracting you with duplicates, email and Telegram digests are sent only when you are offline. While you are actively working on the remote.team portal, the system tracks your activity and doesn't send notifications, as you can already see all new messages in the interface.

- You can change the email/Telegram digest frequency at any time.

- All three types of notifications are independent: enable only the ones you actually use.
