Task Manag

In most teams, the messenger and the task planner live on different planets. First, you discuss a project in a chat for half an hour, and then you go to a third-party application to manually create a task. At remote.team, we have erased this boundary. In this article, we will analyze how our tasks (we call them "requests") help make the team's work more transparent and efficient.

1. Tasks in the Context of Discussion

The main trouble with classic task trackers is the loss of context; in remote.team, a task is created directly during the dialogue. You don't need to switch tabs: as soon as a specific action is born in a discussion, it immediately turns into a task. This ensures that no detail from the chat is lost, and the assignee can always scroll up to understand why the task was set.

2. Flexibility and Collective Work

We have provided different responsibility scenarios:

  • Group tasks: Assign several performers at once if the work requires team efforts.

  • Role changes: Projects change, and that's normal; you can change the person in charge right during the execution of the task.

  • Project tags: Mark tasks with tags to instantly filter them by project and evaluate the progress of the entire team in one click.

3. Privacy and Security

To work with sensitive data, we have unique tools:

  • Private tasks, which are visible only to the author and the performer (+ other specified participants, if required).

  • End-to-end encryption for tasks related to passwords, access, or financial information and more.

4. Automatic Time Tracking and Statistics

Forget about manual time trackers; the system automatically calculates the time spent on a task. The data immediately goes into the employee's personal statistics. The manager sees team-wide analytics, which allows for an objective assessment of workload and efficiency without unnecessary reports.

5. Quality Control and the "Life History" of a Task

We believe that the result must match the conditions.

  • Revision: If a task is not completed according to the specifications, it can be returned for revision with one button.

  • Full Audit: The entire history of the task—from changing the deadline and clarifying conditions to changing performers and readiness notifications—is saved in the history. You always know who changed what and when.

6. Smart Escalation

What happens if a deadline is missed? In remote.team, such a task is automatically escalated to the performer's manager. This is an operational response tool that helps notice a problem in time and help the employee before the situation becomes critical.

The task functionality in remote.team is an integrated mechanism that works in the context of communication, automates time tracking, and provides full control over changes.
